So… you guys are taking the Delos/William conversation way darker than it needs to be for proper interpretation: William’s opener to Delos is that half the budget of the company is spent on marketing. Marketing in and of itself it tasked with finding out what people like/want and exploiting it (cough FACEBOOK cough) to help sell a product or service. Extortion/blackmail would be a fringe benefit of their ability to fully gauge what people want in extraordinary circumstances (with clients who would stand to lose something substantial if the information was leaked) through full surveillance of the park, most of it could be used for/monetized as standard market research without resorting to nefarious use. Delos is a business man above all and that should appeal to him more than using it for legally risky criminal activity. They’re building a fantasy world where any attempt at extortion could be rebuffed with “I knew where I was and what I was doing, and anything I did there I didn’t do to people; they’re robots! I would never do that in real life to real people.” Also, Delores’ weapon and William’s “great mistake” are clearly the same thing; with all the time uncertainly it remains to be seen who gets there first.
Hi Drew,
We gave that possibility as well. At least I did (Jason)
Also, I believe we said it was the same place as well. I even said it probably what was flooded by Arnold.
